Bringing prosperity to Nigeria's poor through energy and climate change ideas and action

bida-stovesThis pilot project in Niger has demonstrated the benefits of institutional woodstoves and will serve as an advocacy platform for launching a national initiative on institutional stoves.

The project delivered an 85% reduction in wood use, total elimination of smoke and significant cost savings for the secondary school. By involving students, teachers and cook staff in the implementation of the project, significant advocacy gains were recorded.

The project was based on an institutional rocket stove model developed by Aprovecho, USA.
