ICEED trains women, solar engineers in Borno

ICEED trains women solar technicians in Borno

The International Center for Energy, Environment and Development (ICEED) has equipped and trained its first 24 of Borno State’s targeted 140 solar technicians.

The practice, which mixed intense curriculum and realistic tasks, tagged ‘Borno MAIDA venture’, had five young women among trained solar technicians.

Under the initiative, 140 young people will be trained in solar installation and business in Borno State’s Six LGAs, while some health and education facilities, as well as local residents, would be fitted with solar power equipment to minimize safety risks for women and children and mitigate gaps in energy deficiency facilities.
