Preparing Nigeria for Copenhagen and Beyond

This policy research and advocacy project aims to persuade the Federal Government of Nigeria to seek an equitable post-2012 agreement following on from the UNFCCC COP in Copenhagen in Dec 2009, as well as to develop clear road maps for a low carbon economy.

Some of the key results of the project include the adoption of the project’s research as the basis for Nigeria’s positions on key issues on the negotiation agenda, the inclusion of the project team in the negotiation team, the participation of non-government experts in strategy development and the formulation of a clean energy bill for parliament.
