Visiting Research Scholar from Poland to study the Nigerian energy industry and its impact on sustainable development


Dr. Adriana Paliwoda-Matiolanska an assistant professor and researcher at Cracow University in Poland is visiting ICEED to study various aspects of the energy industry in Nigeria.  Currently, she is researching about sustainability in the energy sector.

She is collaborating with ICEED and is currently in Abuja to analyse the functioning of the energy sector in Nigeria and the energy challenges that Nigeria faces. These include climate change and sustainable development encompassing the three pillars of economy, environment and equity.  During her stay, Dr. Adriana Paliwoda-Matiolanska will be meeting with government officials, experts, NGOs and industry representatives to identify economic, environmental, socio-cultural and political factors that have impact on activities and operation of energy companies.

Her research is financed by the Polish National Science Centre.
